More than 20 model railway layouts
The autumn exhibition brings together more than 20 model railway layouts from Shildon Model Railway Club members and guest exhibitors, covering a variety of gauges, eras and modelling styles.
Visitors can expect detailed scenery, locomotives in operation and plenty of opportunities to talk to the modellers behind the displays. Traders will also be attending, making the event a useful chance to browse model railway products and supplies.
A model railway show inside Locomotion
One of the things that makes the Shildon exhibition particularly appealing is its setting. The show takes place at Locomotion, part of the Science Museum Group and home to an impressive collection of historic railway vehicles.
This means visitors can combine the model railway exhibition with a wider day out exploring Britain's railway heritage, making it a particularly good option for families as well as dedicated modellers.
Trainsporters will be attending
Trainsporters will be exhibiting at the Shildon Model Railway Exhibition 2026. If you're visiting Locomotion over the weekend, come and see us to explore our model railway storage and transport boxes and find a practical way to keep your locomotives and rolling stock safe and organised.
