Beyond STEAM 2026 takes place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2026 at STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway in Swindon. Billed as a celebration of contemporary railway modelling, the show brings together modern image layouts, specialist traders and plenty of inspiration for railway modellers.

A show for contemporary railway modelling
Beyond STEAM focuses on modern and contemporary railway modelling, with layouts covering a range of scales including 2mm, TT:120, HO and 4mm. Expect detailed modern image scenes, realistic operations, depot layouts, main line action and creative modelling across British and international subjects.
The confirmed layouts include names such as Newvaddon Parkway, Bristol Road, Llanwyddyn, Batty Moss, Beijiao, Fareford East, Cassiobury, Ditcheat Junction, Wheal Imogen and DRS Gresty Bridge, with more exhibitors being added as the show approaches.
Traders attending
The show will also feature a strong trade presence, with traders offering rolling stock, scenic materials, accessories, tools, kits and modelling supplies.
