RailEX NE 2026 returns on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July 2026 at Parks Sports Centre, North Shields. Organised by the Blyth & Tyne Model Railway Society, the show features over 30 quality model railway layouts, trade stands and modelling demonstrations.

A major North East model railway exhibition
RailEX NE brings together a wide variety of layouts across different scales and eras, including British, international, narrow gauge, finescale, LEGO railways and family-friendly displays such as Thomas & Friends. It is a strong regional show with plenty to interest both experienced modellers and casual visitors.
Layouts and demonstrations
The 2026 layout line-up includes names such as Allington, Bedeside Lane, Cheviot Line, Doncaster York Road, Newvaddon Parkway, Selby Station and Rotating Rail Bridge, St Georges Wharf, Walker Marine and Whitburn Bay, alongside many more.
Visitors can also enjoy modelling demonstrations covering weathering, scratch-built buildings, painting, lining, locomotive building and plastic kit construction.

A strong trader line-up is confirmed, including Anoraks Anonymous, Brooks Models, Contikits, DC Kits, Digitrains, Durham Trains of Stanley, Squires Model and Craft Tools, Sunderland Models, Tri-angman and Trainsporters.
Free shuttle bus and railway weekend link
RailEX NE 2026 will include a free wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus service from North Shields Town Centre to the exhibition and onwards to the Stephenson Steam Railway. The show also runs in conjunction with the Model Railway Weekend at Stephenson Steam Railway, making it a great weekend for railway enthusiasts.
